Luxury Finds Made in the U.S.A.

In a crowded market of imports and foreign made goods, a luxury domestic item is like a diamond in the rough. With patriotism near and dear to our hearts this month, we thought no better a time to round up a crop of some of the domestic ‘diamonds’ we’re currently coveting!

Luxuriously crafted from 100% New Zealand wool, our Woolston Plaid brings a modern look to a traditional pattern that has been a classic hit for years in the Karastan offering. Available in eight colorations and engineered for superior wear resistance, the Woolston Plaid tops our list for luxury finds made in the U.S.A.

Since Charles Lewis Tiffany arrived in New York in 1837 and founded Tiffany & Co., the iconic jewler and their coveted little blue boxes have been synonymous with luxury. Part of the company’s 2015 Blue Book Collection, The Art of the Sea, arrives the Japanesque Holloware pitcher and glasses. The intricate wave pattern is applied by hand to the sterling silver pieces, a tribute to Tiffany’s commitment to craftsmanship and perfection, and each piece is made to order.

Acclaimed as our country’s oldest clothing retailer, the luxury brand’s first store opened in 1818 as H & D.H. Brooks & Co. Since then, Brooks Brothers has stuck to their roots as an American icon brand and continued producing many of their items domestically. A favorite of which is the Brooks Brothers Classic Cologne spray, a fail proof choice that is as suave as it is sophisticated.

Legendary American designer, Ralph Lauren, has been quoted saying, “I have always been inspired by the dream of America, free-spirited, natural and from the earth. That timeless heritage touched me and became the living part of all that I design.” Packed with over 700 illustrations and photographs, peek inside the pages for an intimate look at the world of Ralph Lauren, spanning over the past four decades.

In the late nineties, two brothers found themselves miserable at their Manhattan desk jobs, so they traded their business suits for bathing suits and began selling ties so they wouldn’t have to wear them. On July 3rd, 1998, they delivered their first 800 ties and sold out within the first week. Vineyard Vines had become a success and living proof that the ‘American Dream’ is still alive and well. Hand woven in the USA, their Skulls and Crossbones tie is just a taste of their huge collection of original ties, accessories and clothing for the whole family.

Nothing is much more American than denim and when it comes to the cashmere touch and flawless fit of these baby blues, Mother knows best! Somewhat new to the scene, luxury denim brand, Mother, is a product of the duo, designer Tim Kaeding and his business partner, Lela Tillem. Once denim rivals, as Kaeding designed for Seven for all Mankind and Tillem worked in sales at Citizens of Humanity, their relationship thankfully evolved into a business relationship. Now the two domestically create the notoriously soft denim with a “secret” blend of fibers typically used in knits.

For the taste of luxury, look no further than the sea salted caramels at Atlanta based Tiny Buffalo Baking Co. Baked to order, these melt-in-your-mouth drops of heaven are made with only five dreamy ingredients and arrive in nostalgic packaging that’s prime for gift giving. Though, we’ll warn you… one morsel and you may want to keep these for yourself.

MADE in the deep south founder and designer, Michela Bruno Swafford, began creating her one-of-a-kind jewelry line somewhat accidentally. While visiting a friend out of town, she purchased a piece of vintage jewelry but wasn’t sure what to do with it. She opted to add it to a leather cuff. After receiving countless compliments on her cuff, she decided to create a few more, and then a few more, until her brand was born. Each MADE piece is a product of mixing vintage and antique finds with other materials to create an original piece of stand-out jewelry. Adding to its unique character, every piece is accompanied by a story card to tell its own biography.

Founded in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1905, the team of artisans at J.W. Hulme Co. have been creating quality, American made leather goods for over a century. Each piece is individually handmade by a skilled artisan using the finest American leathers selected from small craft tanneries in Minnesota, Maine, Illinois and Tennessee. Developed in one of the oldest tanneries in the United States, their signature American Heritage leather has become a classic.

Ever since the Karastan brand was founded in 1928, we’ve continued to push the envelope on product innovation and strived to dazzle our customers with each new rug debut. This July, we unveiled our latest creation, the limited edition Mystic Garden design, breaking new ground as the first-ever use of silk in an Axminster rug. With only 75 of this limited edition rugs created, the demand is high for this American luxury good, with buyers seeking to secure one before it is sealed in the vault forever!
